General Urology
The doctors of Physicians Urology provide treatment for all urologic disorders. With each new patient, we take the time to evaluate existing medical history and devise a specific treatment plan based on your needs. The information provided on our web site will offer insight into specific urologic conditions, which allows our patients to make informed decisions regarding their care.

Oncology
Physicians Urology provides comprehensive treatment for all urologic cancers. We recognize that cancer diagnosis is a life-altering event. It's our mission to help our patients and their families better understand the disease following diagnosis. We strive to offer our patients the most advanced treatment options available. Patients at Physicians Center for Urologic Health (CUH) have access to a patient liaison that assists them through every step of treatment. CUH also offers programs for the community to raise awareness about cancer prevention.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Through advances in technology, it is now possible to perform many surgical procedures using minimally invasive techniques. These techniques offer patients such benefits as reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, a quicker return to daily activities, and less scarring. Complications are minimal and success rates are also comparable to those of conventional surgery.

In a laparoscopic procedure, surgical tools and a tiny video camera are inserted through several small incisions (less than one-half inch in length). The camera transmits video images that allow the surgeon to see things in great detail. The surgeon then inserts surgical instruments through two or three small incisions and performs the operation.

Procedures that can be performed laparoscopically include:

  • Laparoscopic nephrectomy
  • Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy
  • Laparoscopic nephroureterectomy
  • Laparoscopic adrenalectomy
  • Laparoscopic pyeloplasty
  • Laparoscopic kidney biopsy
  • Laparoscopic cyst drainage

Robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy is the most advanced form of surgical treatment for prostate cancer. The surgeons at the Center for Urologic Health are among a limited number of physicians in Ohio to offer this advanced option.

Learn more about this ground-breaking treatment by reading: "Robotic Assisted Radical Prostatectomy."

Your surgeon will discuss your procedure in depth pre-operatively and will answer any questions you may have.

Female Urology/Incontinence
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary loss of urine from your bladder. It's not a disease, but rather a symptom of an underlying condition. The great myth about urinary incontinence is that it is a natural part of growing older or a consequence of having children. The truth is that this condition is due to the weakening of the pelvic floor, which can be corrected or improved. The doctors at Physicians Urology offer patients a range of treatment options for incontinence, including behavioral interventions, drug therapy, and surgery.

Male Infertility
The goal of Physicians Urology's doctors is to bring friendly, efficient, and cost conscious care to couples dealing with infertility. We realize that male infertility is a very personal and emotional issue affecting both partners equally. Along with a physical examination, the initial clinic visit includes an extensive medical and surgical history, including questions regarding:

  • Any previous evaluation for male infertility
  • Other medical conditions
  • Current medications, including herbal supplements
  • Social history, including alcohol and recreational drug use
  • Any difficulties with erectile function
  • A history of back, retroperitoneal, genitourinary or pelvic surgery
  • Family history of fertility issues

Physicians Urology's specialists offer a variety of treatments for male infertility, including drug therapy and surgery. Recent advances in both the identification and treatment of "male factor infertility" have helped many couples in their goal of having a family.

For those couples who require higher level assisted reproductive techniques, Physicians Urology's doctors works closely with female infertility specialists and will assist the couple with artificial insemination procedures as needed.
